for Each Other
Coe Cares brings our community together to support one another, create connections, and help make sure every family can participate and belong. We support families in our school community experiencing financial or emotional hardship, as well as create opportunities to engage students and families in community service.
Thanks to the Coe community, we are able to provide back-to-school supplies and cover school-related expenses for families that need some extra support, as well as provide food-related assistance.
We also plan events throughout the year where students and families can come out and support organizations doing great work in our community and the broader Seattle area.

Our annual food drive benefits Ballard Food Bank, a vital community resource that supports Coe families facing food insecurity through their “Weekend Food for Kids” program.
Send shelf-stable items to school with your child to be collected in the atrium.
Caring at Coe
Back to School Supplies
The Coe Cares program provides backpacks, lunchboxes and water bottles for Coe students in need of assistance with back-to-school supplies.
Food Delivery
Food is delivered to Coe families weekly from Ballard Food Bank as a part of their “Weekend Food for Kids” program.
Equitable Participation
Coe Cares provides assistance with costs and fees, school photos, activity fees and field trip costs, ensuring that all Coe students can participate equitably in school activities.
Targeted Support
In partnership with Coe staff, Coe Cares provides targeted financial support for urgent needs.
Grocery Gift Cards
Rallying around Coe Families who need extra support with monthly grocery gift cards. While the PTA budget covers monthly gift cards for families, we gladly accept additional donations to support families through extended holidays and school breaks. Participation and all gifts are anonymous.
To donate a $25 or $50 grocery gift card you may either:
Purchase a physical gift card at a store and deliver it to the Coe office ATTN: Coe Cares.
Purchase an e-gift card from Kroger or Safeway, designate the recipient as "Coe Cares" and the recipient email as "coecares@coepta.org". Trader Joes gift cards must be purchased in-store.
Holiday Giving Tree & Gift Card Drive
The Giving Tree is a way for the Coe Community to help Coe families who need extra support in the holiday season with gifts, clothes and groceries. Participation and all gifts are anonymous.

Book Drive benefiting Treehouse for Kids
